Managing Group Email Alias

If you have a group email alias associated with your Marshall University web site, these lists can be self-managed by using the Alias Manager tool available on our website.

To log-in to the Alias Manager tool, use your MUNET username and password.   Any alias that you own will be available for management by following the “Manage Group Aliases” link after logging in.

Alias Management consists of three user manageable sections, detailed below:

Alias Description:  A descriptive name for your alias, indicating clearly the site or group that the alias is intended to serve.

Alias Owner Usernames:  The MUNET account names of individuals who will “own” the alias.   Any accounts listed in this section will have the ability to manage the alias by logging in to the Alias Manager tool.  Note:  Account names entered in the “Alias Owner Usernames” section should not be followed by the “@marshall.edu” portion of the email address.

Distribution Addresses:   The full email address of any individuals who should receive mailings sent to the alias address.   Users can be added or removed by simply adding or removing their email address from this section.    Users listed her will receive any email sent to the alias, but will not be able to administer the alias.
